After having traveled 26 European cities, the EGERI TOUR International Model Contest held its grand final in Paris from 4 to 7 October 2018. An intense weekend for our 20 finalists, which ended with the announce of the two winners of the 2018 edition: Loli and Rodney. Back on these three unforgettable days.
They come from all over Europe, speak French, English, Flemish, Swedish and even Spanish. The 20 finalists don’t know each other yet but they will live a unique experience for more than three days.
Day 1: very sporty photo shoot
Friday. The 20 finalists push the doors of the 1700 square meters of the SDS Reebok Sports Hall for a busy day. Upon arrival, each candidate is taken in charge by a makeup artist who will follow throughout the weekend.
The girls head for the boxing room where they chained the photoshoots, supervised by our artistic director and his team of photographers. The boys realize themselves their photoshoots in the fitness room. Surrounded by machines, they coordinate to meet the demands of videographers. All finalists will end the day with a yoga class before going to rest for the busy schedule that awaits them the next day.
Day 2: fitting, shooting and catwalk in front of the jury
Saturday. Candidates discover for the first time the place of prestige chosen for Sunday’s final catwalk show. The EGERI team and the creators are here to welcome them. They start the day with polaroids to represent them at agencies and their measurements.
Their morning continues alongside the creator of the brand Virus Paris, official partner of the contest, which supports our 20 finalists. They try different outfits for the nextday runway. Each candidate makes a photo shoot and shoot videos. They will then try the new creations of stylist Kwan (Virus Paris), surrounded by the team EGERI TOUR, with a photo shoot for each new outfit worn.
The afternoon ends with a catwalk in front of the jury of the competition, composed of representatives of agencies, influencers, a former candidate of the 2017 final, as well as members of the EGERI team. After their passage, the jury deliberates for the grand finale of the next day.
After more than 24 hours to share the EGERI TOUR experience together, the 20 finalists 2018 all know each other. They will enjoy their Saturday night around an evening in their honor in a rooftop in Paris overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
Day 3: Egeri Final Show and beginning of a new adventure
Sunday. Candidates arrive for the last time at the final place. They are directly supported by Romain Thevenin, stylist and coach catwalk, who trains them to the technique and attitude to have during the parade.
In the early afternoon, the tension rises, everything is ready for the fashion show. The guests are all present: many agencies come to scout future models, Victor and Romane the winners of the 2017 edition, but also influencers and personalities invited to the event, eager to discover the new faces that will represent the contest for all year round 2019.
Let’s go, the show starts on the music of the DJ. The candidates catwalk two by two, through a modern and dynamic scenography, taking turns in different outfits of the last collection of our creators partners. It is a real success that meet our 20 finalists, their show ends under the long applause of the public. The tension is palpable, it is finally time to know the lucky winners.
And it’s finally the names of Loli and Rodney that resonate. All the candidates gather around the two winners to congratulate them and dry the tears of joy of our young winner who does not believe to win the contest. The after show cocktail is an opportunity for our two winners and the other finalists to meet face-to-face with representatives of agencies interested in their profile. Solicited from all sides, many of our finalists will join a prestigious Parisian agency in the weeks following the final.
It’s happy with the experience, the encounters and the links that they have been able to make, that our 20 finalists leave for their home in the four corners of Europe. During this final weekend, photo shoots, fitting, makeup, hairdressing, catwalk and sports coaching were their daily tasks. If the 2018 edition ends for them, it is a new chapter in the modeling industry they are about to write.
